What Are Ayat ul Kursi?

“Ayat ul Kursi is one of the greatest Ayat of Holy Quran. Ayat No 251 of Surah Baqarah. It mentions the greatness of Allah SWT, the fact that HE is in absolute control of everything, HE is the protector, HE is the one who protects every single one, HE has knowledge of absolutely everything and there is absolutely none who has the power to do anything without HIS permission.

Benefits of Ayat ul Kursi

it has been said that if we repeat it, we will be protected from Devil (Shaytan). There are many narrations (Hadith) that speak of the virtues, and benefits, of Ayatul Kursi are tremendously huge.

1: Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA): Prophet Muhammad (SAW) ordered me to guard the charity (Zakat) revenue of Ramadan. Then somebody came to me and started stealing of the foodstuff. I caught him and said, “I will take you to Allah’s Apostle!” Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and said: That person said (to me), “Please don’t take me to Allah’s Apostle and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you. When you go to your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi, for then there will be a guardian from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn.” When the Prophet heard the story he said (to me), “He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar; and it was Satan.”
Sahih Al-Bukhari – Book 61 Hadith 530

2: Ayfa’ (RA) told of a man who asked Allah’s Messenger (SAW) which Surah of the Qur’an was greatest and was told that it was “Say, He is Allah, One.” He asked which verse of the Qur’an was greatest and was told that it was the Throne Verse, (Ayat ul Kursi) “Allah, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal.” He asked Allah’s Prophet which verse he would like to bring good to him and his people and was told, “The end of Surat Al-Baqarah, for it is one of the treasures of Allah’s mercy from under His throne, which He gave to these people, and there is no good in this world and the next, which it does not include.”
Al-Tirmidhi – Hadith 2169

3: Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If anyone recites in the morning Ha-Mim Al-Mu’min to ‘to Him is the final goal, and the Throne Verse, he will be guarded by them till the evening, and if anyone recites them in the evening he will be guarded by them till the morning.”
Al-Tirmidhi – Hadith 2144

4: Abu Umamah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites the verse of the Throne (ayat al-kursi) after every prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entrance into Paradise except death.”
Al-Mu’jam al-Kabīr 7406

English Translation:

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).
